TAPROBANE ISLAND

Taprobane Island is 2 ½ acres of sheer tropical fantasy, reached by wading through the clear blue waters of the Indian Ocean.

The neo-Palladian mansion was originally built in the 1920’s by Count de Mauny-Talvande and over the years has played host to kings, queens, presidents, prime ministers, aristocracy, writers and eccentrics, giving it a seductive and enticing history.

Taprobane has 5 en-suite bedrooms, all with spacious living areas and private terraces which give panoramic views of the Indian Ocean. An amazing infinity pool fuses with the wide open sea and the house is surrounded by 2 acres of exquisite tropical gardens filled with frangipanis, palms, flame trees, fuchsias, hibiscus, bougainvillea, orchids and meandering sandy paths with lovely secluded spots.

A staff of 5 cater for your every need; some guests simply stay put until their departure!
